EXAM: Because Anxiety Needed a Formal Name

EXAM is that unskippable trailer life forces you to watch before moving to the next level.

EXAM arrives with a timetable that looks suspiciously designed to test patience more than intelligence. Suddenly, EXAM becomes the reason your alarm clock develops villain energy and your brain starts buffering at the worst possible moments. You sit down to study, open the book, and EXAM quietly whispers, “Remember nothing.”

During EXAM days, hunger strikes at inappropriate hours, pens disappear like magic tricks, and confidence fluctuates faster than mobile network bars. EXAM has a special talent- it makes chapters you revised yesterday feel like ancient, untranslated manuscripts. Even the most innocent question in an EXAM paper sounds like a personal attack.

EXAM also has a sense of humour. It lets you prepare everything except what actually appears. It watches calmly as you overthink the easiest question and underthink the dangerous ones. And right when EXAM is about to end, your brain suddenly remembers all the perfect answers- politely, uselessly late.

When EXAM is finally over, relief lasts exactly five minutes. Then come the replays, the regret, and the legendary line: “I should have written that.” Because EXAM may end on paper, but EXAM lives on, rent-free, inside your head, cracking jokes at your expense.

Really felt this one. Your take on exam anxiety gave such a real, honest voice to something so many of us experience but rarely name. It’s powerful how putting a “formal name” to it makes it feel seen and a little less overwhelming.
